概要 Three-dimensional flows of a viscous incompressible fluid in a cubic space are studied by solving numerically the Navier-Stokes equation. The flow is driven by a moving upper wal1.Steady solutions are obtained at low Reynolds numbers. It is found that the streamlines exhibit complicated structures even in the steady-state flow fields S. At lower Reynolds numbers in the steady regime S, some sets of helical streamlines form invariant tori. As the Reynolds number increases in the regime S, certain invariant tori are disrupted by resonances and a region of chaotic streamlines coexists with regions of invariant surfaces. The chaotic region becomes larger in the space at higher Reynolds numbers in S. The particle motion in a steady solenoidal velocity fields is equivalent to a nonautonomous Hamiltonian system of one-degree-of-freedom. Existence of invariant tori and disruption by resonances, derived from the normal form Hamiltonians, are well compared with those of numerical results.
