概要 |
Underwater wireless optical communication systems are capable of providing high-speed and large capacity transmission and have thus attracted considerable attention. In recent years. In such systems, multlbeam configuration has an advantage. In tolerance for floating matter underwater. In this paper, performance Issues due to crosstalk for two-beam configuration are discussed theoretically. The Impact of crosstalk on bit-error rates are evaluated quantitatively by using numerical calculations. From the presented results, we can point out that bit-error rates are severely degraded even If the crosstalk power level Is only 1% of signal power. Requirements for the detection area separation are discussed to maintain the crosstalk power penalty below 3-dB. The analytic results can give considerable Insight Into the proper design of underwater transmission systems based on the multlbeam technique. |
